Cricket Coach Job Overview

The cricket coach is responsible for the overall development of students in the sport, fostering their growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promoting student participation and assisting them in analyzing and improving game skills, fitness, and performance in sports and performing arts.
  • Maintaining constant progress monitoring and adjusting pace accordingly.
  • Conducting checks for improperly dressed students during Sports and Performing Arts (SPA) sessions.
  • Ensuring player safety through careful planning of practice sessions, equipment usage, and games.
  • Developing each student to a level of skill and competence necessary for competition at the school level.

Sports and Performing Arts (SPA) Functioning:

  • Curriculum planning, actively contributing to and participating regularly during Curriculum workshops with the SPA Coordinator and Head of Department (HOD).
  • Implementing SPA training sessions, training rules, and a system of play and scouting program suitable to the sport as per the SPA curriculum.
  • Assuming responsibility for equipment and materials issued, ensuring their return in good condition.
  • Talent scouting/selection for the school team.
  • Submitting assessment reports and a summary of monthly activities to the Assistant SPA Coordinator/SPA Coordinator.

In-Class Conduct:

  • Arriving at the workstation, appropriately dressed, at least 5 minutes before the beginning of SPA classes and setting up the activity area.
  • Ensuring systematic and organized arrival and remaining until all students have dispersed.
  • Conducting and covering all components as per the pedagogy of Lesson Plan.
  • Chaining previous sessions to the current one.
  • Providing clear instructions, demonstrating skills systematically using part-whole method with required equipment, and sharing constructive feedback for student development.

General Administration:

  • Attending PTMs and maintaining individual and team assessment records.
  • Sharing records with students and parents at PTMs.
  • Participating in Curriculum workshops, Special Events, IHC, ASD, PTM's on non-working days.
  • Communicating leave, half-day, and late arrival notifications in advance.
  • Assembling scouting reports for every game and reviewing them with teams before competitions.
  • Reporting participant injuries to the Assistant SPA Coordinator/SPA Coordinator.
  • Submitting agenda points for MOMs in writing at least 2 days in advance.

School Policies:

  • Awareness and adherence to all school policies affecting coaches and students.
  • Fulfillment of contractual obligations.
  • Attendance at meetings convened by the SPA Assistant Coordinator/SPA Coordinator/Principal, unless prior permission is obtained.
  • Adherence to all policies in force or introduced over time and active implementation.
  • Protection and maintenance of all school property at all times.

Special Events:

  • Active involvement in planning, organizing, and coordinating Annual Sports Day/I.H.C/NSD/VIVA/Republic Day/Independence Day events.
  • Micro-planning and follow-up for smooth event execution, including procurement of certificates, medals, referees/judges, and allocation of staff duties.

Maintenance of Records:

  • Maintenance of accurate records on student attendance, assessments, and mapping of SPA activities.

Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Setting up activity stations prior to events and ensuring readiness.
  • Responsibility for the conduct and sportsmanship of students during practice, competitions, and public appearances representing the school.
