Job Profile:

The primary responsibility of this role is to procure high-quality knit fabric from reliable sources at the optimal time, price, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire knit fabric from trustworthy vendors ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing
  • Manage vendor payments, finalize vendor contracts, and conduct regular evaluations to ensure commitment to buyer requirements
  • Approve color and design specifications based on buyer input
  • Provide expert advice on the advantages and limitations of knit fabric highlighting potential problems before order placements
  • Develop innovative print designs, fabrics, and research initiatives, establish strong relationships with vendors through regular visits
  • Analyze fabric quality and advise on final fabric costs and delivery schedules for merchants
  • Collaborate with mills to select dye stuffs and test parameters required for garment performance
  • Host presentations by mill representatives showcasing their latest fabric ranges to designers and merchants
  • Drive teams to generate innovative products and streamline processes
  • Generate MIS reports for concerned departments

This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the textile industry.
