About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II to join our Data & Analytics Squad at General Mills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and deploying sustainable, secure, reliable, and resilient Big Data foundations to support General Mills Data Analytics projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and Delivery teams to develop technical service roadmaps.
- Develop provisioning processes for Data Lake resources that follow Core Public Cloud Principles, including IaaS & PaaS.
- Develop auditable Infrastructure, Software, and Data Deployment processes using IaC principal.
- Collaborate to provide technical direction on architecting, designing, building, and deploying cloud solutions for Enterprise Applications and Data and Analytics teams with expertise in Cloud Platform Architecture and Engineering.
- Contribute to product milestones by solving complex problems, through understanding dependencies in both in-platform and software products.
- Contribute in development of Cyber Security processes, including logging, audit, and governance processes.
- Evaluate new cloud capabilities (applications/software/tools).
- Vendor relationships and understands industry trends enabling them to collaborate on the overall technology roadmap.
- Consults on implementing cost-optimized cloud solutions (based on usage, business requirements, and budget).
- Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions.
- Administer, troubleshoot, and resolve failures and critical alerts.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant IT Infrastructure/DevOps experience with 3+ years of experience with designing and implementing cloud infrastructure.
- Automation-first mindset.
- Experience working with infrastructure as code such as Terraform, or equivalent.
- Experience with concepts, processes, and tools required for cloud adoption, including cloud security, governance, and integration.
- Experience with GCP Big Query, Snowflake, and MaxCompute.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security practices and Cloud IAM Policy.
- Expertise in deployment, building, scanning, and monitoring of the infrastructure in Cloud (GCP or Azure or AWS or Ali Cloud).
- Experience with agile techniques and methods.
- Familiarity with user expectations for cloud databases (to be able to design user-centric engineering services – e.g., provisioning self-service workflow).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery Processes design and implementation.
- Working knowledge on DevOps, Agile development processes, exploration, and POCs.
- Works well collaboratively across functional team boundaries.
