Job Title: Security Operations Center Analyst 

The role of a Security Operations Center Analyst is to ensure the security and integrity of our systems by providing technical and functional support to the Level 1 team. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating incidents, collecting evidence, diagnosing issues, and recovering systems within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing analytical feedback to the L1 team
  • Investigating incidents, collecting evidence, diagnosing issues, and recovering systems within SLA deadlines
  • Understanding information security policies and best practices in Birlasoft environments
  • Informing management on proactive and reactive actions to ensure adherence to security policy
  • Reviewing collected metrics from monitoring systems and being aware of patterns and anomalies
  • Performing incident response, eliminating threats to the network, determining cause while preserving evidence for further analysis
  • Ensuring consistent incident handling in line with established playbooks
  • Monitoring SIEM and logging for alerts of potential network threats, intrusions, and/or compromises
  • Understanding the global threat environment and general security best practices
  • Assisting with triage of service requests from automated sensors and internal requests for assistance
  • Participating in active cyber hunting to identify and eliminate known and unknown network threats
  • Interfacing with technical personnel from various disciplines to rapidly resolve critical issues
  • Informing and advising leadership of incidents and proposing effective response and/or countermeasures for containment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in Information Security & 3+ year experience in managing the SOC
  • Knowledge of industry recognized analysis frameworks (Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Incident Response, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing Fundamentals, EDR, DLP, Firewall
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental security and network concepts (Operating systems, intrusion/detection, TCP/IP, ports, etc.)
