Principal Building Services Engineer

Your Role:

  • Collaborate with clients to create designs, conducting calculations and selecting equipment and systems for installation.
  • Perform detailed engineering design for piped water supply and drainage, including layout preparation, schematics, and details.
  • Design public health and fire protection services, preparing layouts, schematics, schedules, specifications, and details.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Draft technical schedules and specifications.
  • Organize and manage BIM documentation for design work.
  • Represent the discipline during client meetings.
  • Evaluate service and project work completion against agreed deadlines and budget.
  • Maintain appropriate service and design decisions.
  • Prepare briefing documentation for water, drainage, and fire protection to facilitate outsourcing design.
  • Review design information from a delivery perspective to ensure it meets requirements.

Requirements:

  • Critically assess building services documentation at all stages, providing valuable input and guidance.
  • Design sustainable plumbing and fire protection systems, demonstrating proficiency in hydraulics, piping systems, pumps, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines for project coordination and timely delivery.
  • Supervise junior engineering staff and provide training as needed.

You will bring:

  • 8-12 years of experience in building services design engineering.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant subject.
  • Experience in public health and fire protection designing.
  • Ability to accept responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of Indian standards.
  • Broad building design knowledge, working on a wide range of projects.
  • Excel skills, including macros.
  • Understanding of electrical concepts and their impact on the overall project.
  • Awareness of key design team members such as architects, structural and civil engineers.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, IES, and Hevacomp software.
