System Administrator Job Description

MGT-Commerce is a Berlin-based company that specializes in providing managed cloud hosting services for Magento e-commerce shops on top of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator with expertise in Linux and AWS to join our managed hosting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and security of our clients' systems hosted on our managed hosting platform.

Our team consists of over 40 skilled engineers who have served more than 5,000 customers worldwide, helping them reach their full potential by leveraging the power of AWS cloud hosting and Magento expertise.

The responsibilities of the System Administrator include:

  • Managing and maintaining Linux-based servers hosted on our managed hosting platform.
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability and reliability for our clients' systems.
  • Configuring and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure to support our managed hosting services.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their hosting requirements and providing technical support and solutions.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator in a managed hosting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu) and shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM.
  • Familiarity with web hosting control panels is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with clients and team members.
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) is a plus.
