About this role:

The Software Engineer-II at Rocket Software Development India Private Limited will be responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting software programs. This includes developing software tools, ensuring software compatibility with hardware, and providing feedback to influence software design based on hardware specifications.

This role requires experience in Java and NodeJS development, with additional knowledge of JavaScript, Angular, and MongoDB as a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement software solutions in Java and NodeJS that meet the company's quality standards.

- Develop software tools such as operating systems, compilers, routers, and network utilities.

- Create and maintain databases, ensuring efficiency, security, and scalability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software development aligns with hardware requirements.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects in software applications.

- Analyze code problems and escalate issues to senior engineers when necessary.

- Ensure software enhancements are implemented efficiently and effectively.

- Provide input on software designs, offering creative and technical solutions.

- Contribute to the team's knowledge base by sharing best practices, writing documentation, and mentoring junior team members.

- Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, contributing to group problem-solving efforts.

- Assist in identifying and resolving customer issues by shadowing other engineers, learning from real-world debugging situations.

- Document and communicate issues and resolutions with limited direction, ensuring clarity and thoroughness.

- Communicate effectively with the software engineering team and stakeholders to document processes and troubleshoot technical problems.

- Provide detailed reports on technical challenges and solutions for ongoing software projects.

- Exhibit a strong desire to learn new technologies and take initiative in self-directed learning of the application subject matter.

Essential Qualifications:

- Minimum 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.

- Proficiency in Java and NodeJS development.

- Experience in writing commercial/enterprise-grade software.

- Strong ability to debug and troubleshoot code, identifying potential defects and bringing them to attention when necessary.

- Ability to understand and communicate end-user requirements, ensuring software solutions meet business needs.

- Team-oriented, collaborative, dependable, and accountable.

- Willingness to take direction from senior team members while also being self-directed in learning and problem-solving.

Additional Skills:

- JavaScript : Familiarity with client-side scripting and frameworks.

- Angular : Experience with this framework for building web applications.

- MongoDB : Knowledge of document-based databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated curiosity and a 'can-do' attitude, continuously seeking improvement and understanding.

- Experience working in a team with strong collaborative skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
