Purpose of the Role

This role exists to provide work directly and support GM business partners, ensuring flawless service delivery in a consistent and standardized manner across the teams. As a Statutory Audit COE team member, you will support Local controllers/accountants in Statutory Financial Reporting and other local filings.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Manage quarterly and year-end Financial Reporting
  2. Understand data flow across sub-ledger processes to provide resolution
  3. Have hands-on experience with systems such as SAP, Workiva, Blackline, HFM, and Financial Reporting
  4. Tactical knowledge of Chart of Accounts set up and organization
  5. Escalate issues to appropriate personnel to get timely resolution
  6. Work in collaboration with Local Business Controller teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reporting tasks
  7. Subject matter expertise and hands-on experience with Statutory US and Local GAAPs (IFRS), HFM, Consolidation
  8. Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and international auditing standards
  9. Experience with international tax structures and the translation of these structures to financial statements
  10. Proactively maintain up-to-date knowledge of Accounting Standards and Regulations impacting General Mills
  11. Lead and prepare various schedules required for internal and external reporting on a GAAP, statutory reporting basis, financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and footnote schedules
  12. Proactively seek areas to improve both the Statutory Reporting process and related internal processes
  13. Liaise with auditors and internal teams as appropriate to ensure that all local GAAP requirements are fulfilled
  14. Plan and prepare financial statements
  15. Coordinate and plan the preparation of financial statements of Global Markets
  16. Initiate and prepare financial statements in the reporting tool (Workiva and SAP) with maximum accuracy
  17. Get financials reviewed by business controllers/tax consultants/auditors and book necessary adjustments in the reporting tool and SAP
  18. Support in filing financials to relevant local authorities
  19. Ensure proper and robust documentation from SOX and internal controls perspectives
Minimum Qualifications
  • CA/CMA/CPA/Dip IFRS/ACCA degree in accounting
  • Related experience: CA (0-4 years), IFRS in Financial Reporting/Corporate Accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience on Statutory US GAAP/local GAAP financial reporting
  • Extensive experience working in a large accounting organization
  • Extensive experience of producing Statutory Accounts and Annual Reports in international markets (e.g., US, EU, etc.)
  • Professional Certifications: CA, Dip IFRS/ACCA/CMA
  • Technically strong, with a working knowledge of US and Local GAAPs (IFRS)
  • Should have a general understanding of the flow of financial transactions until close
  • Demonstrated mathematical and analytical knowledge and the ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Strong Excel and database skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork through own actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the Company organization
