Senior Software Ruby Rails Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Ruby Rails Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering solutions for our client's product.

You will work closely with the Technical Architect, Product Design Team, Quality Assurance, and other Software Engineers to build amazing features for our client's strategic program management solution.

This solution helps businesses navigate rapid change and deliver on their promise.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and unit test new features within the product according to defined requirements within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure that code developed adheres to performance requirements of a SaaS product.
  • Build front-end software using React/Javascript according to visual designs provided by the UX team.
  • Implement corresponding backend model software using Ruby on Rails.
  • Maintain existing client application including fast resolution of customer-raised issues within the software.
  • Write unit tests to ensure high-quality Ruby on Rails code within our infrastructure.
  • Collaborate effectively with product design team, QA, and other stakeholders to understand user needs and ensure best customer solutions.
  • Estimate, self-plan, and self-manage tasks as a developer within an Agile team.
  • Document technical processes and software changes when necessary.
  • Protect confidential data and ensure information security protocols are followed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3-9 years professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript with React capability desirable, SQL, and database use.
  • CI/CD technologies (Gitlab an advantage).
  • Knowledge of SaaS application architecture and design with Azure knowledge desirable.
  • Knowledge of software engineering and best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source code control, build processes, testing, and operations.
