Job Role Overview

This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring underwriting guidelines related to commercial products, ensuring a thorough risk assessment process that aligns with local market dynamics and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Risk Analysis and Underwriting: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, develop and implement underwriting guidelines, and provide recommendations based on commercial product characteristics and client relationships.
  • Client Relationship Management: Foster strong partnerships with major clients and intermediaries, working closely with the sales team to identify profitable business opportunities that meet company underwriting standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze commercial risks, identify potential business opportunities in declined risk categories, and seek necessary approvals from senior management or headquarters.
Essential Skills:
  • Effective Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate ability to adapt to changing market conditions, business requirements, and regulatory demands.
  • Technical Proficiency: Be well-versed in Microsoft Office applications and possess basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Cultural Awareness: Have awareness of local language and cultural nuances to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
Education and Qualifications:

A graduate or postgraduate degree is required, and qualifications in insurance (e.g., Fellowship, Associate, Licentiate of I.I.I.) are highly desirable but not essential.
