The Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in securing the necessary raw materials for our production processes. This involves formulating procurement strategies, fostering relationships with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and guaranteeing timely delivery of high-quality raw materials.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Management Cycle
    • Evaluate Purchase Requisitions and initiate RFQ as per plan received from planning team
    • Draft comparative quote sheets, negotiate best prices and issue PO to L1 as per approval of AVP & VP Procurement
    • Follow established Procurement SOP
    • Ensure on-time-in-full delivery of material (OTIF), diligent follow-ups with suppliers, ensure timely payments, vendor reconciliations etc.
  • Strategic Procurement Planning:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the raw materials market.
  • Supplier Performance:
    • Select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
    • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Cost Control:
    • Manage the procurement budget for raw materials and ensure compliance with financial targets.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Optimization:
    • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock.
  • Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
    • Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Talent Development:
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. SAP knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the Pesticide industry is preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to raw materials procurement.
