Communication Specialist

This position plays a pivotal role in managing the organization's communication with the public, media, and institutions/agencies.
- Develop strategic plans for communication programs and public information campaigns.
- Establish and maintain relationships with media representatives, prepare press releases, and respond to public and press inquiries.
- Represent the organization at institutions, policy makers, civic, and community meetings.
- Assist in articulating policy statements, advise management on policy formulation, and assess potential public reactions to proposed actions.
- Prepare newsletters, brochures, presentations, social media materials, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct research, analyze public opinion and regulatory trends, and prepare impact assessments and recommendations for senior leaders.
- Organize outreach activities, educational initiatives, facility tours, public events, and emergency preparedness communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for public, media, and internal audiences.
- Strategic thinking and advocacy skills to drive organizational interests in complex stakeholder environments.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present information in ways that foster understanding and build support for agency policies.
- Project management and event coordination abilities for public outreach and educational programming.
- Advanced degree or related experience/certifications.
