Health Emergency Leadership Role in Global Health

This is a unique opportunity to lead the World Health Organization's efforts in emergency preparedness and response. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding national authorities in enhancing their capabilities to respond to emerging infectious diseases, outbreaks, and health emergencies.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of work experience in public health, with a strong focus on planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of epidemic and emergency preparedness and response activities in developing countries. Experience in strengthening country capacities and response to emergencies and disasters, including infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters, or complex emergencies, is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical guidance to national authorities in the areas of emergency risk management, country preparedness, and International Health Regulations.
- Lead the identification of resource needs and funding gaps for health-sector risk reduction, preparedness, and response for vulnerable populations.
- Collaborate with relevant ministries and stakeholders to undertake gap analyses in areas of work for emergency preparedness and management, leading the development/revision of national strategies and a national multi-hazard, health emergency preparedness and response plan.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge of International Health Regulations (IHR) and a thorough understanding of planning, monitoring, and evaluating health systems. A master's degree in a relevant field, such as medicine, epidemiology, or public health, is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, projects, and programs.
BenefitsThe salary for this position is competitive, with an annual base salary starting at $92,731 USD. Additionally, the successful candidate will receive a variable post adjustment, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
