Job Title: Plant Commercial Head

A business-oriented leader is required to oversee the commercial functions of a plant, ensuring its efficient and effective operation. This role involves providing financial support to the business unit, including preparing various financial reports and conducting analyses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Planning, Analysis, and Decision Support:
    • Lead the annual operating plan exercise and develop a strategic construct with management and functional heads.
    • Anchor the monthly operations review meeting for reviewing unit performance, sales, logistics, and other key metrics.
    • Drive productivity improvement initiatives and monitor their progress.
    • Analyze revenue and cost lines, as well as working capital, to provide decision-support to management on pricing, trade margins, and ROI.
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting/Fund Management:
    • Ensure adherence to respective country statutory accounting policies.
    • Complete statutory and internal audits within the timeline and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
    • Provide monthly financial results to management with detailed cause-of-change analysis versus plan.
    • Prepare financial reports and analyses for unit operations reviews.
    • Ensure adherence to authority matrices for all S&D spends.
    • Implement proper systems for accounting and reconciliation with business partners, distributors, claims management, and transporters.
    • Liaise with government agencies and departments of the respective country.
  • Financial Controls and Asset Stewardship:
    • Safeguard company assets by maintaining high-level financial control throughout the unit.
    • Lead efficient management of working capital and cash flow.
    • Implement risk management initiatives and best practices for all aspects of business spends/purchases across manufacturing and sales operations.
    • Exercise signatory authority as per company financial policies.
    • Commercial/purchase working capital optimization.
    • Verify accuracy of marketplace spending.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Optimize inventory carrying costs and enhance purchase efficiency while ensuring ready availability of raw materials through active coordination with purchase coordinators.
    • As unit supply chain head, ensure smooth operation of supply chain systems, leveraging own fleet for maximum utilization.
    • Process implementation – vehicle in/out, platform system, ESG (EV deployment at DBR), and safety initiatives.
    • Execute supply chain activities across demand/supply/inventory planning, shipping, warehousing, transportation, and process atomization/digitalization.
    • Maintain high on-time fulfillment rates.
    • Define monthly load plans and ensure resource availability and arrangement of infrastructures (vehicles, manpower, pallets, and interlayers).
  • IT and Financial Transaction Processing:
    • Implement best practice tools that improve the accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of financial transaction processing and reporting.
    • Ensure IT security and adherence to authority matrices as per system requirements.
  • Legal and Compliance:
    • Manage overall compliance and commercial/indirect taxes matters for the respective country.
    • Create awareness among unit members and senior management about relevant changes in local enactments.
    • Optimize tax structuring for unit operations.
  • People Management:
    • Ensure growth and development of people reporting to this position through learning activities and training.
    • Carry out performance management processes for people under this role.
    • Provide a healthy work environment encouraging empowerment and diversity.
    • Plan resources required for people-related activities.
