Electrical Cable Design Expert Wanted

This is a full-time position that requires expertise in EHV or HV cable design. As an Electrical Cable Design Expert, you will play a crucial role in the success of our global clients.

  • Job Description:

You will be responsible for technical reviews of sourcing requests from internal customers, designing cables, and supporting internal customers to optimize their sourcing requests based on Supply Chain Partner capabilities.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical review of sourcing requests from internal customers
  • Design of cables - EHV, HV
  • Supporting internal customers to optimize their sourcing requests based on Supply Chain Partner capabilities
  • Reviewing cable inquiries from customers and converting them into cable sourcing requests
  • Performing technical clarifications with our Supply Chain Partners
  • Performing short circuit calculations with Excel to define wire screen/metal sheath size
  • Performing ampacity calculations with CYMCAP to define/verify conductor sizes
  • Performing drum length calculations with an Excel tool
  • Checking and accepting technical data sheets from our Supply Chain Partners
  • Ensuring prequalification and type test coverage of cables offered by suppliers
  • Preparing Quality Control Plans and ITPs together with Supply Chain Partners
  • Preparing technical contract parts
  • Reviewing and accepting Quality Records from suppliers
  • Witnessing in-process, routine, and sample tests
  • Preparing type tests
  • Identifying and driving improvements

To succeed in this role, you should hold an Engineering degree, preferably in the electrical field, and have 4 years of experience or more.
