About the Role

Nasdaq is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Data Engineering Senior Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes using various technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, OneLake Lakehouse, and Azure data cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technology platforms leveraging Microsoft Fabric, OneLake Lakehouse, and Azure data cloud services.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT data pipelines using Informatica, Azure Data Factory, Python, and PySpark.
  • Supervise the design and implementation of methods to extract data from different sources.
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical problems with Nasdaq Data Platforms and related ecosystems.
  • Supervise the team in writing ETL and data transformation processes and jobs for Nasdaq Finance Data platforms using the most suitable application and tools available.
  • Supervise the overall process and dependencies of all jobs and supervise the corrective actions taken.
  • Develop technical and operational standards, procedures, and technical documents.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting performance metrics.
  • Pro-actively keep knowledge and skills up-to-date and act as an expert in the field.
  • Actively contribute to the Finance Data Engineering knowledge base.
  • Actively work towards and advise others to ensure the project is being delivered within the assigned timeline and budget.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks and ensure the team performs them in a timely manner and that information given is detailed and complete. Ensure that administration is done according to regulations, in order to keep the administration accurate and detailed.

Requirements

  • Overall 5-8 years of data engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Data Warehouse and Data Lake technologies (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or related tools).
  • Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Data Factory, or other).
  • Experience in crafting data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
  • Azure certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.
