About the Role

Careerpedia is seeking a skilled Java Development Mentor to join our team. As a mentor, you will play a crucial role in guiding students on their Java learning journey, helping them develop essential programming skills and preparing them for successful careers in technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality instruction on Java fundamentals, object-oriented programming, advanced topics, and real-world applications.
  • Assist students in writing, debugging, and executing Java code effectively.
  • Provide personalized feedback and guidance on coding assignments, projects, and exercises.
  • Help students solve complex coding problems and improve their problem-solving abilities.
  • Assist students in setting up and managing their GitHub profiles.
  • Guide them on building a strong portfolio by uploading projects and collaborating on code repositories.
  • Continuously update training materials to reflect industry trends and evolving technologies in Java.
  • Provide constructive feedback and conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions to ensure continued growth.
  • Support students in preparing for technical interviews and coding assessments.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Java (including Java 8+ features such as streams and lambdas).
  • Experience with Spring, Hibernate, and other Java frameworks is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and software development lifecycle.
  • Prior experience as a Java developer (2+ years) is required.
  • Previous teaching, mentoring, or coaching experience in programming or tech is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
