Job Title: Taxation and Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Taxation and Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting, compliance, and tax-related functions.

The ideal candidate will bring 9+ years of experience, strong technical expertise in Indian and international taxation, and proven leadership in managing finance teams.

This role involves direct client engagement, advisory responsibilities, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review management reports, financial statements, and tax returns for clients including individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts, and superannuation funds.
  • Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure timely compliance.
  • Manage complex tax matters such as GST, CGT, FBT, and Division 7A compliance.
  • Deliver business advisory services, including management accounting, board reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and succession planning.
  • Identify tax issues and opportunities, provide actionable strategies, and ensure continuous improvement year-on-year.
  • Conduct tax research, interpret legislation, and form well-supported opinions on technical issues.
  • Mentor, guide, and manage junior accountants to deliver accurate and compliant outcomes.
  • Oversee assignments independently and ensure high-level review for accuracy and compliance.
  • Build strong client relationships by delivering high-quality service and strategic insights.
  • Groom resources, coach employees, and actively contribute to team development and firm growth.
  • Work with Australian clients and manage end-to-end service delivery for international compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or CMA (highly desirable).
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with GST, CGT, FBT, Division 7A, and business compliance matters.
  • Strong expertise in financial statement preparation, tax return filing, and management reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • High degree of accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in team management, mentoring, and training.
  • Familiarity with Xero and Xero practice tools (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Proven ability to handle multiple assignments and adapt to diverse client requirements.
  • Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment and ability to take initiative.
  • Experience managing a team for Australian clients (preferred).
