Basketball Coach Job Description

• We are seeking a highly skilled Basketball Coach to lead our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting training sessions, designing practice schedules, and developing game strategies.
• The successful candidate will teach fundamental techniques such as dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and rebounding to players of all levels.
• They will also scout and mentor talented players to represent the institution in competitive tournaments.
• An important aspect of this role is organizing intra-mural competitions, trials, and selection camps, as well as accompanying students during competitions and ensuring proper conduct and performance.
• Maintenance of basketball courts and training equipment is also a key responsibility.
• The coach will promote basketball through workshops, clinics, and awareness programs.
• Apart from coaching, they will maintain student attendance, progress records, and performance assessments.
• Encouraging team spirit, fair play, and academic balance among student-athletes is essential for success in this role.

• A Bachelor's degree (any stream) is required.
• Coaching certification from a recognized authority is preferred.
• Prior experience as a player or coach at school/college/state level is necessary.

• A strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and training methodologies is essential.
• Experience coaching youth or college-level teams is desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills are required.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate, inclusive, and competitive programs is vital.
• First aid knowledge and understanding of injury prevention practices are necessary.
