Global Markets Trading Role

Nomura's Wholesale division provides capital raising and advisory services, structuring, sales and trading of global securities, and distinctive investment research to global corporations, governments and financial institutions.

We focus on markets and segments where we add value, aiming for global competitiveness and sustainable profits in our chosen areas.

The Global Markets Powai Structured Trading team works closely with Trading, Sales and Structuring functions dealing primarily with EMEA and US regions. We prioritize pricing, modelling, position-keeping, market tracking and trade-idea generation.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Collaborate with global trading desks in dynamic markets and tight deadlines.
  • Gain expertise in relevant global financial products and business models.
  • Answer client requests ranging from data provision to bespoke model design and implementation.
  • Perform trade modelling, strategy selection and performance analysis.
  • Bolster infrastructure to implement new models and maintain existing ones.
  • Work with sales, traders and structurers to execute trades, conduct post-trade analysis and position keeping.
  • Convert financial market knowledge into understandable investment opinions and make relative value recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date on market and commercial developments to inform investment strategies.
  • Support senior management in preparing pitches for internal Investment committees and management packs.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a commercial mentality with an entrepreneurial bias, a willingness to learn and attention to detail.

They should also demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, collaboration across teams within Global Markets and divisions, and be proactive, self-motivated and result-focused.
