Animal Emergency Response Specialist Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our emergency response team as an Animal Emergency Response Specialist. This role is responsible for assisting the team in handling urgent animal emergencies, rescues, and cruelty cases involving animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency and general cruelty-case calls and emails.
  • Arrange timely assistance for animals in need in accordance with standard operating procedures and in consultation with relevant supervisors.
  • Coordinate effectively with approved animal-protection organisations, volunteers, activists, government bodies, and designated officials to facilitate emergency rescues in remote areas across the country.
  • File police complaints and First Information Reports, visit relevant agencies and case sites when needed, and perform similar tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution.
  • Voluntary or other experience handling emergency and cruelty-case responses for animals is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in Hindi and English.
  • Knowledge of other local Indian languages is a plus.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, including multi-tasking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal patiently with animal-protection organisations, volunteers, and other contacts.
  • Passion for ending cruelty to animals and helping animals in need.
  • Compassionate, responsible, and self-driven character.
  • Outgoing and personable manner with excellent communication skills.
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
  • Ability and willingness to travel independently as needed to handle emergency and cruelty cases.
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA India's philosophy and the ability to advocate for PETA India's positions on issues in a professional manner.
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation.
