Pipeline Specialist

As a key member of our Pipelines team, you will be responsible for delivering pipeline engineering expertise to support the safe and reliable operation of our pipelines globally.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Regional Pipeline Support: Provide execution and assessment of subsea inspection campaigns and define repair requirements.
  • Subsea and Pipeline Integrity Management: Work closely with engineers in regions to manage subsea and pipeline integrity management data, anomaly assessment, and tracking system.
  • Subsea and Pipeline Geospatial, Documentation, and Performance Management: Work closely with engineers in regions to manage our inspection and engineering data in GIS (PODS), improve accessibility to documents in Electronic Document Management System, and build and maintain Power BI dashboards.

General Responsibilities:


  • Risk assessment, integrity management plan development, maintenance, inspection, and repair execution engineering support, anomaly assessment, and interaction with major projects.
  • Provide timely updates to Inspection Data Specialist on inspections and repairs scopes and ensure accuracy of data including QA/QC, timely application of engineered solutions, and documentations.
  • Leading and participating pipeline integrity and improvement activities around the world.
  • Provide pipeline engineering expertise as Equipment Owner for pipeline-related equipment and System Owner for any transportation systems assigned by Region.
  • Region/global pipeline-related Domain Expert assigned by Pipeline Field Lead to support all regions in areas of expertise when requested.
  • Integrate with associated fields to ensure adequate equipment care, including maintenance and engineering, corrosion, flow assurance, production chemistry, pressure systems integrity, process safety, and structural and civil engineering.
  • Ensure pragmatic solutions are identified to manage risk, production efficiency, defect elimination, and standardization to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Own and maintain documents and data for assigned equipment.
  • Own and maintain risk assessment for assigned equipment ensuring that identified threats reflect current operations and use this to define, implement, and support delivery of Equipment Strategies by relevant Execution Owner.
  • Assess anomalies, initiate further actions, and follow up to closure.
  • Prepare, review, and endorse pipeline-related metrics (e.g., barrier health, pipeline integrity dashboard, and LOPC data) and take action where appropriate.
  • Pipeline support to incident investigations and learning process.
  • Technical management of subsea contractors (e.g., subsea engineering contractors).
