We are seeking an experienced Data Storage Solutions Architect to join our team at Chubb. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data storage solutions on Azure, such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL Database.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze business procedures and requirements to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.
  2. Establish work estimates based on business requirements through participation in project feasibility, scoping, and estimating activities.
  3. Design and implement data storage solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders.
  4. Build and maintain data pipelines to move data from various sources to data storage solutions.
  5. Manage data workflows to ensure timely and accurate data processing.
  6. Monitor data performance to ensure smooth operation of data pipelines and workflows.
  7. Ensure data quality by verifying accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  8. Troubleshoot data issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  9. Collaborate with other teams, including data analysts and scientists, to ensure their data needs are met.
  10. Ensure data security by following best practices for storing and processing sensitive information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based data storage solutions.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing data storage solutions on Azure.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory or Azure Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of Spark architecture and concepts, including hands-on experience with Spark RDDs, DataFrames, and SQL.
  • Proficiency in either Python, PySpark, or Scala, with experience writing Spark applications in Azure Databricks.
  • Prior experience working with cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with tools and services offered by these platforms.
  • Experience creating UNIX shell scripts to perform file-level validation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and JSON formats, preferably CosmosDB.
Estimated Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 per year
