Automation Specialist Role Overview

The successful Automation Specialist will be responsible for managing and supporting control systems, focusing on industrial automation platforms and SCADA software.

Key areas of responsibility include developing and implementing programmable logic controller (PLC) programs for automation systems using industry-standard PLC platforms. Additionally, the specialist will design, configure, and integrate PLC systems with other automation components such as sensors, drives, human-machine interface (HMI), SCADA, and input/output (IO) modules.

Responsibilities also include identifying and resolving issues related to PLC, SCADA programs, logic, hardware, and communication between systems. The specialist will perform system integration testing and validation of migrated SCADA systems.

Furthermore, the Automation Specialist will design, configure, and develop HMI/SCADA applications. On-site commissioning of PLC/SCADA projects and testing, commissioning, and ensuring that PLC-controlled SCADA systems operate according to specifications and requirements are also key responsibilities.

Technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases of projects, as well as ongoing support to clients for troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC SCADA systems, is expected of the successful candidate.
