HVAC Design Specialist

The ideal candidate should possess a strong comprehension of MEP coordination, energy efficiency, and HVAC system optimization.

This role involves performing load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
  • Performing heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20.
  • Selecting and sizing HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.) based on project requirements.
  • Ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems are designed using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
  • We ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • An additional responsibility includes performing energy efficiency analysis and optimizing HVAC systems for cost and sustainability.
  • Candidates must be able to coordinate with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors for system integration.
  • Preparation of technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project approvals is required.
  • Tendering, cost estimation, and bid evaluations for HVAC systems require support from the successful candidate.
  • Support during installation and commissioning will be provided by this team member.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20) is necessary.
  • A strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles is required.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other HVAC standards is expected.
  • Experience in energy modeling and sustainable HVAC system design is an advantage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills are essential.
