Software Development Engineer - Test

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products. Your main tasks will involve software testing (manual & automation), developing and documenting testing procedures to guarantee that the software products are functioning properly and usable.

You will work with cloud-native, highly available, robust and secure applications in the AWS environment. You will have experience in backend, API and database testing. With automation and maintenance at the heart of our engineering principles, this position will have the opportunity to adopt and promote best practices, bleeding-edge technologies and trends.

This role is not limited to a single product area or type over time and will work in a cross-functional team with skill sets in full-stack software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, quality assurance to architect.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities
  • Designing, developing and executing automation scripts
  • Identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly and tracking bugs
  • Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Developing and applying testing processes for new and existing products
  • Collaborating with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Monitoring debugging process results
  • Tracking quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Recommending improvements in software to enhance user experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in software engineering (or related)
  • 4+ years of experience in software testing (Test Automation)
  • Experience in JavaScript/TypeScript is a must
  • In-depth understanding of any programming language
  • Experience in API testing (Postman/REST/SOAP)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge on AWS
  • Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
