About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Applications Production Support Professional to join our team at NTT DATA North America. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical and non-critical automotive production applications and provides a chance to develop your skills and expertise in Mainframe technologies.


Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance activities for the applications.
  • Maintain, control and support the applications on the production lines.
  • Perform root cause analysis, source code analysis and create bug fixes, releases and upgrades for the applications.
  • Configure and optimize the application and infrastructure as needed.
  • Monitor and respond to open tickets submitted through an incident management system.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate alerts that cannot be resolved to appropriate section.
  • Prioritize and handle service requests and incidents.
  • Progress issues and provide relevant information for troubleshooting or for clarification.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers on change requests, managing issues and establishing priorities.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A deep understanding of Mainframe technologies, including COBOL/JCL and IBM WebSphere MQ.
  • Experience working in an applications production support/application development environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of multiple systems and an in-depth understanding of their functionality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions

This role requires occasional meetings with the client and may involve working late nights or weekends on occasion. A rotational shift/on call requirement may also be required in the future.
