Principal Geologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Geoscientist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in interpreting and integrating various geo-science data, building robust geological models, and generating multiple development scenarios.

Main Responsibilities:

• Analyzing stratigraphic/coal seam correlations, structural interpretation, and quality controlling of geological & seam parameter maps.
• Creating static geo-cellular models incorporating available data of the field.
• Estimating volumetric estimates in multiple cases capturing the range of uncertainties.
• Verifying map-based & model-based OGIIP estimations.
• Generating alternate development scenarios w.r.t well type, spacing etc.
• Evaluating geological prognosis & well trajectories for development drilling.
• Supporting Ops Geology teams during geo-steering/drilling operations and providing operational decisions as required.
• Providing technical inputs for business development plans.
• Planning and acquiring geological data to bridge data gaps and reduce uncertainty through enhanced field understanding.
• Assisting pre- & post-drill geo-mechanical analysis.
• Supporting RE teams during dynamic simulations.
• Validating onsite & lab measurements on cores for coal characterization.
• Evaluating CBM data packages from regulatory bodies / prospective sellers for block acquisitions / farming-in.
• Reviewing & validating subsurface deliverables from third-party SME studies.
• Generating integrated subsurface descriptions and risk/uncertainty matrices.
• Communicating cross-functionally with projects, FC&A, P&C, D&C etc for all planning and execution related to operations and development.
• Reviewing scopes of works and technical evaluations/recommendations for procuring materials/services of sub-surface.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• M.Sc / M.Tech or PhD in Geology.
• Minimum 8-12 years relevant experience in industry working on interpretation, geo-modelling, well planning and operations.
