The position of Mortgage Underwriter is a critical role in our organization. We are seeking a qualified professional to review and underwrite mortgage loans in accordance with established policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in live underwriting and real-time analysis, as well as excellent skills in income calculation and debt-to-income ratio calculation.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be familiar with the 4C's framework (Credit, Capacity, Collateral, and Capital), credit report analysis, and Letter of Explanation (LOX).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze mortgage loan applications to ensure eligibility, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review all required loan data, reports, and inspections to ensure collateral is acceptable to investors and the company.
  • Apply knowledge of lending and underwriting guidelines, credit and income analysis, cash flow analysis, risk assessment, loan-to-value ratios, and debt-to-income ratios.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in conventional/government end-to-end underwriting
  • Familiarity with the 4C's of underwriting (Asset, Income, Credit, and Collateral)
