Database Development Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Developer to join our team. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SQL Server database objects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for high performance.
  • Support cross-platform integration with Oracle databases, including PL/SQL development.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, with experience in Oracle ETL tools also an asset.
  • Implement and monitor database security, backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, blocking/deadlocks, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design normalized and scalable data structures.
  • Support database upgrades, migrations, and integrations between SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Document standards, best practices, and database architecture across SQL Server and Oracle environments.

Requirements:

  • 6-7 years of total IT experience, with 5-6 years in SQL Server database development.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).
  • Hands-on experience with T-SQL development, including stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views.
  • Proven skills in performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, including procedures, packages, and functions.
  • Hands-on experience with SSIS or equivalent ETL tools.
  • Strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with database version control and CI/CD deployment practices.
