System Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled System Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure solutions.

This includes monitoring and administering AWS cloud services, such as EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using backup software like Veeam, AWS Snapshots, Commvault, and Backup Exec.

A key aspect of this role is overseeing automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources. You will analyze system performance, identify trends, and implement improvements to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency using monitoring platforms like Datadog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold.

In addition to these technical responsibilities, you will provide technical guidance and support to junior colleagues and act as an escalation resource for all technologies under the Platform Engineering umbrella.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in implementing and managing AWS cloud solutions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience administering Okta.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.

You should have a strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch is essential.

Additionally, you should have experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Proven hands-on experience supporting the Okta SSO Platform is also required.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also necessary to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
