Job Title: Skilled Fabrication Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for performing a range of welding processes, including SMAW, MIG, TIG, FCAW and SAW, to meet project requirements.

You will weld structural steel components, such as beams, columns, base plates and stiffeners, to ensure structural integrity. This will involve reading and interpreting welding symbols, fabrication drawings and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) to guide work activities.

To ensure high-quality welds, you will adhere to ASME, AWS, IS and EN standards. You will also conduct fit-up, tack welding and final welding in accordance with approved procedures.

In addition to your technical skills, you will collaborate with the QA/QC team for weld inspection, NDT clearance and rework as needed. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards, using PPE, fire watches and hot work permits where necessary.

Requirements:
  • Holding an ITI certification or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • You should have 2–7 years of experience in industrial fabrication or construction.
  • A valid Welding Certification from ASME/AWS/IS is required.
  • You must be able to read and work from fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
  • You should be physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces or at height.
  • Knowledge of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel, is desirable.
