Financial Valuation Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Valuation Expert to join our team. As a key member of our valuation group, you will play a crucial role in providing expert financial analysis and valuation services to our clients.

Job Summary:

As a Financial Valuation Expert, you will be responsible for analyzing historical financial data to explain business trends and identify risks. You will also value businesses, business interests, and intangible assets for various financial reporting purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Value businesses, business interests, and intangible assets for ASC 350, ASC 360, ASC 718/409A, ASC 820 and ASC 805, real estate, complex securities and embedded derivatives;
  • Analyze historical financial results to explain business trends and identify risks;
  • Challenge assumptions related to future financial projections;
  • Develop discount rates (WACC, IRR, WARA, etc.) and conduct financial statement analysis (e.g., common size analysis, ratio analysis, trend analysis, and industry comparative analysis);
  • Perform market/industry research and develop industry growth estimates;
  • Construct and review valuation and other financial models;
  • Design and prepare valuation reports and other client deliverables;
  • Present analyses and conclusions to internal management and external client stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required;
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience performing work related to fair value of debt, equity, purchase price allocation, and/or goodwill impairments in a public accounting, consulting, or investment banking environment;
  • Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and experience with traditional valuation methods;
  • Comprehensive experience with financial databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other high-level tools;
  • Strong analytical and technical skills working with financial models in Excel;
  • Ability to travel (if required).
