Animal Emergency Response Specialist

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing prompt and effective assistance in emergency situations involving animals, including rescues, cruelty cases, and other urgent matters. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

The individual will be part of a team that handles animal emergencies, working closely with senior paravets, office assistants, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and appropriate responses. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to maintain accurate records of all interactions.

In addition to responding to emergency calls, the Animal Emergency Response Specialist will also be responsible for coordinating with approved animal-protection organizations, volunteers, activists, government bodies, and designated officials to facilitate emergency rescues in remote areas across the country.

The selected candidate will undergo professional development training on animal handling, restraining, first aid, and other relevant topics to ensure they are equipped to handle emergency situations effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution
  • Voluntary or other experience handling emergency and cruelty-case responses for animals a plus
  • Computer proficiency
  • Fluency in Hindi and English
  • Knowledge of other local Indian languages a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including multi-tasking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal patiently with animal-protection organizations, volunteers, and other contacts
  • Passion for ending cruelty to animals and helping animals in need
  • Compassionate, responsible, and self-driven character
  • Outgoing and personable manner with excellent communication skills
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
  • Ability and willingness to travel independently as needed to handle emergency and cruelty cases
