About the Role

This role will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in application environments and infrastructure using AWS cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux operating systems and middleware technologies such as Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Java Web Applications, JBoss Fuse, Jira, and IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and subject matter expertise in one or more technologies.
  • Assist in the delivery of appropriate documentation such as support procedures for 2nd level operations.
  • May be asked to assist with production of technical documentation for assigned tasks and projects.
  • Provide input to the upkeep of system information.
  • Provide assistance for the reduction in volume and mean time to recover incidents in assigned business unit by providing high-level trouble shooting on technical issues.
  • Provide assistance in proactive problem management in order to deliver high service levels.
  • Assist with identifying risks & issues following appropriate escalation procedures.
  • Assist with upgrades of production systems.
  • Assist with the production of implementation/project plans according to agreed standards and ensures project processes and timelines are understood and followed.
  • Adhere to change management procedures.
  • Adhere to operations procedures, standards, and technical policies.
  • Collaborate with business, third party vendors, developers, application support and technical operations groups to determine appropriate hardware/software needed and to resolve any issues impacting the application processes.
  • Stay abreast of recent developments in related technical community, including new technology and business news that may impact vendors' ability to provide service.
  • Responsible to seek out all information and to fully understand all aspects of each device's technology configuration and uses all approved engineering tools available to implement conforming change.
  • Assist in the analysis and design of complex solutions and requirements definition, including translating technical and business requirements into physical installations.
  • Reviews and coordinates the implementation of proposed modifications, and changes to the production environment.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • MCA / BE / BTech / ME / MTech degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with enterprise applications on Linux platform (Red Hat Enterprise Linux RHEL).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like bash shell scripts, Perl scripting language etc.
  • Experience with middleware technologies like Apache Tomcat, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Oracle WebLogic Server (OWS), JBoss Fuse, Jira etc.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP networking, DNS resolution etc.
  • Familiarity with database technologies like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong problem solving abilities coupled with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency levels.
