About This Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Sybase Database Architect. As a key member of our database team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design and implementation of our database infrastructure.

As a master administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining large-scale Sybase environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Your expertise in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting database management systems will be crucial in driving the success of our business operations.

You will also be involved in disaster recovery planning and execution, developing strong backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. Additionally, you will support end-users and application developers in resolving complex database-related issues.

In this role, you will work closely with various teams to coordinate database project plans that align with our organizational goals. You will have the opportunity to propose and implement enhancements that improve system performance and reliability, enabling us to deliver exceptional services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain large-scale Sybase environments
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot database management systems
  • Develop disaster recovery plans and execute them
  • Support end-users and application developers
  • Coordinate database project plans with various teams
Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of experience in Sybase administration
  • Experience with handling very large environments (500+ instances)
  • Strong knowledge of secondary technology (PostgreSQL)
  • Proficiency in tools like SSMS, Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, DBArtisian, Putty, ITSM, Service now Autosys, UC4, Excel
  • Programming skills in T-Sybase Scripting, Power shell & Python
  • Knowledge of Production Database Operations and understanding of BAU
