Firewall Support Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer to join our team in a fast-paced multitasking service desk environment. This role supports remote access internet VPN products, managed security and network services, Software as a Service Products (SaaS), with high first call resolution.

The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and communications issues, and work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide phone, chat, and email support to customers
  • Log and track all communications received into the ticketing system
  • Establish a quality working relationship with customers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and communications issues
  • Collaborate with internal and external support groups to resolve complex issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of network protocols and concepts, including SSH, FTP, ICMP, TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6), NAT, SNMP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, and VLANs
  • Ability to interpret output from network traffic analysis tools such as Ethereal (Wireshark)
  • Experience with Meraki and Fortinet firewalls
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic team environment
