Legal Manager
About the Role:
The Hosteller is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee and facilitate the development and administration of lease deeds, operating & other contracts, etc. and manage and resolve legal issues arising operationally, as appropriate and consistent with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee statutory compliance, land acquisition, litigation, monitoring, legal, industrial relations, govt liaisoning, corporate affairs, government relations, operating licensing, etc.
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on lease deeds, confidentiality agreements, MOUs/LOIs, term sheets, notices, other agreements, hotel operating licenses and ancillary contracts with potential hotel partners.
- Experience in sale agreements, deeds and abstracts of title for conversion from agriculture to non-agriculture land, title changes to determining real property ownerships.
- Advise, collaborate and support the execution of various strategic projects involving key stakeholders in the business, including strategic partnerships, business innovation matters, and matters similar to guide and support the business teams from a legal perspective.
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise the operations team on contracts and other legal matters arising from hotel operations, including ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements before hotel opening; act as a primary liaison.
- Ensure that contracts adhere to the company's policies and standards and report material deviations for approval by the company's management.
- Overseeing the administration of various documentation related to the uploading, updating and maintenance of contractual terms, change of terms, owner/licensee information and monitoring/tracking of contract status (such as licenses, lease deeds, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely tracking of key contract terms, conditions, changes, timelines, and other information.
- Assist in coordinating response and settlement of legal disputes (e.g., debt recovery, breach of contract, court litigation, arbitration) including, when appropriate, the selection and supervision of external counsel.
About You:
- Bachelor/master of law (LLM) from a reputable university.
- Min. 7 years of solid experience in corporate and commercial law (licensing/real estate sector/sub-registrar office/law firm) having worked with clients.
- Hospitality industry-related legal experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation & analytical skills.
- Strong research and verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English/Hindi (spoken and written).
- Hardworking, strong legal drafting and negotiation skills, strong communication skills, well-organized, detail-oriented.
What We Offer:
An estimated salary of ₹1200000 - ₹1800000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus additional benefits and opportunities for growth and professional development.
