Purchase Executive – Cosmetics and Nutraceuticals

As a Purchase Executive in our cosmetics and nutraceutical division, you are responsible for the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging items, and other consumables required for product manufacturing. This role ensures sourcing from approved vendors, maintaining inventory levels, and aligning with production schedules while adhering to regulatory and quality compliance standards.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Science, Commerce, or related field is essential.
  • A diploma or certification in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Procurement is preferred.
  • A postgraduate degree (MBA in Supply Chain or Operations) is advantageous.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and source raw materials, active ingredients, fragrances, and packaging items for cosmetics.
  2. Raise and manage purchase orders in line with production and inventory needs.
  3. Coordinate with vendors for price negotiations, lead times, and quality compliance.
  4. Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery time, and cost.
  5. Ensure adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  6. Maintain records and documentation for audits and quality checks.
  7. Collaborate with the QA/QC department to ensure receipt of materials as per specifications.
  8. Track and maintain optimum inventory levels and update the inventory management system.
  9. Coordinate logistics and follow up for on-time delivery of materials.
  10. Support in vendor development and alternative sourcing strategies.
  11. Assist in cost-saving initiatives and price benchmarking.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes in the cosmetics/pharma industry is crucial.
  • Knowledge of raw materials used in cosmetics is essential.
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and cosmetic regulatory requirements is necessary.
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills are vital.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems is required.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills are essential.
  • Time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Problem-solving mindset and cost-conscious approach is vital.
