As a Principal Lead UX Designer at Ameriprise India LLP, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our financial planning solutions. You will work closely with a talented team of designers and stakeholders to ensure that our products are intuitive, user-friendly, and meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the design of experiences during the implementation phase of projects, including the development of wireframes, mock-ups, and other project deliverables to illustrate the intended user experience.
- Assemble, modify, and extend design component libraries, consulting with designers on their design pattern library needs and guiding their decision-making.
- Design interactive user interfaces and ensure that layouts work well across a range of different screen sizes.
- Present design ideas, including rationale based on research and best practices, to the product development team and other key stakeholders.
- Participate in peer design reviews/critique, giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- 10-14 years of relevant experience required.
- Strong understanding of the UX Design Process, Usability, Heuristics, and design fundamentals such as color theory, composition, branding, typography, and web design standards.
- Demonstrated people leadership and art direction experience.
- Demonstrated experience with ideation and creation of UI design deliverables: sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts, prototypes, etc.
- Experience working with industry-standard visualization tools and software (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Invision, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly articulate creative concepts and rationale.
- Ability to work in both waterfall and agile project processes.
- Proven experience building patterns and components for a design system.
- Proven experience in presenting and defending designs with stakeholders.
- Experience in strategic contributions to product design storytelling abilities.
- 9+ years of broad experience designing highly complex web sites and software applications from a UX standpoint.
- Experience building a design system, design tokens, components, patterns, etc.
- Ability to interpret product requirements documents from a UX/UCD perspective.
- Experience designing transactional or complex interactions with consumer and/or B2B platforms.
