Dam Rehabilitation Expert

• Job Role:
  • The ideal candidate will serve as the primary expert for all design-related matters, focusing on review and assessment of dam projects.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Review submitted designs, examining technical specifications, bills of quantities, and bid documents.
    • Provide need-based designs for rehabilitation components to support disaster risk-informed projects.
    • Estimate costs based on item rate analysis or Scheduled of Rates (SOR).
    • Offer expert input for physical modeling of significant structural interventions.
    • Participate in Conduct and Quality Assurance (CS&QA) activities as a third-party representative.
    • Conduct dam safety inspections, manage transmittals, and facilitate capacity building through customized training programs.
    • Contribute to the revision of existing guidelines and the formulation of new ones.
    • Provide inputs for national websites and monitoring systems.
    • Support development of in-house expertise at select academic institutes.
    • Develop training calendars and conduct need-based inspections of dams.
    • Accompany central Dam Safety Review Panels for special safety issues.
    • Present technical case studies at conferences and workshops.
    • Collaborate on joint publications and prepare project reports.
    • Contribute to the finalization of quality assurance manuals.
