About the Role:


We're seeking a skilled Sr. Linux System Administrator to join our team at Hitachi Vantara. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for providing technical system administrative support for our large ScaleIO-RHEL environment.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintain and administer RHEL operating systems for our global ScaleIO environment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot global ScaleIO environment issues, escalating them for timely resolution.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and perform break-fix on HPE and Dell hardware.
  • Manage change and incident management for alerts and planned activities.
  • Provision storage based on client requests.
  • Assist in SIO-Build process.
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot platform and SIO-related issues.
  • Monitor critical system services, reporting performance and server health.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple locations and time zones to ensure high levels of support service.

Requirements:



  • Minimum 8 years of experience with strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Linux operating system administration (Red Hat, AIX, Solaris) with emphasis on volume management.
  • Up-to-date hands-on experience on Red Hat is required, with AIX and/or Solaris experience also required.
  • Understanding of differences between SAN and NAS storage, including pros, cons, and use cases.
  • Experience with clustering solutions, including Veritas Cluster, HACMP/PowerHA, and Oracle RAC.
  • Proficient with SAN storage administration at the client level, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Veritas product suite, including Volume Manager and Cluster Server.
  • Knowledge of naming services, including Active Directory, LDAP, and CentrifyDC.
  • Standard office automation products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to work remotely as required.
  • Prior experience in large-scale enterprise infrastructure support.
  • Experience in managing communications across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience of Linux Systems Administration to a certifiable level.
  • Analytic and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to remain calm and objective in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong self-management and ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work with sense of urgency under multiple deadlines.
  • Fluent English.
