The Augmented Intelligence (AugIntel) team at Cardinal Health builds automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions that drive business success by creating material savings, efficiencies, and revenue growth opportunities.
Job Overview
The Machine Learning Engineer will play a key role in leading the charge of the machine learning domain across business and IT, working closely with business stakeholders to understand their goals and determine how data can be used to achieve those goals.
The successful candidate will design and develop machine learning and deep learning solutions to maximize business value and effectiveness, leveraging their strong background in cloud computing and distributed software design and development.
Responsibilities:
- Design prototypes, build, and refine scalable infrastructure for deploying machine learning workloads at scale.
- Define MLOps practices and deliver new capabilities for model training, model packaging, deployment, ongoing monitoring tools, and metrics.
- Define multi-tenant architecture with containerization leveraging GCP services for machine learning and GenAI-based projects.
- Develop pipelines and automations to manage ML infrastructure, deployments, operations, and tracking effectiveness of models.
- Work directly with Data Scientists, ML engineers, and other stakeholders to enable successful deployments of ML/AI workloads.
- Research, evaluate, and implement artificial intelligence algorithms, ensuring projects are delivered in-line with reference architecture, roadmap, and defined standards and best practices.
- Diagnose business needs, analyze business processes, data flows, IT/technical artifacts, and extract understanding of how the system or business process works as input for model development.
- Identify high-value ML business opportunities and work with business and IT stakeholders to develop and deploy advanced analytical models and algorithms that drive profitable growth, predictable patterns, and areas of opportunity.
- Aide adoption of ML and GenAI solutions within the business by leveraging explainable techniques, conducting training, and coordinating demos.
- Establish development and delivery best practices to minimize rework and maintenance cost for ML and GenAI implementations.
- Build ML architectures that work at Cardinal Health scale.
- Encourage informed risk-taking and act as a catalyst for innovation at Cardinal Health.
- Proactively develop, maintain, and evangelize technical knowledge in machine learning and adjacent technologies.
- Explore and implement Generative AI (GenAI) technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
