Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with Advanced Testing Expertise

Job Summary:
A Senior QA Engineer II at Recro will help achieve the mission of enabling student success through adaptive learning and actionable data in the hands of teachers. This role involves working on an agile team to ensure each release of i-Ready's products meets quality expectations.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Review feature acceptance criteria, business requirements, and UI/UX designs to identify missing aspects and recommend a testing approach.
2. Review developer implementation designs for each feature and suggest improvements for testability.
3. Author high-value test plans and cases that go beyond acceptance criteria and review/approve team members' test plans and cases.
4. Gain approval from the agile team for specific test cases to be automated or manually tested.
5. Execute manual and automation testing for feature areas and document defects to prevent churn with Development.
6. Author automated test cases within proper test frameworks.
7. Provide test coverage assessment for project areas and offer mentorship to less experienced team members.
8. Understand agile commitments and release timelines to assess release readiness and communicate risks.
9. Proactively monitor and communicate critical incident reports and work with Product Management, Development, and QA Management to resolve issues.

Required Skills and Abilities:
1. Advanced knowledge of multiple testing techniques, methodologies, and test framework design.
2. Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional peers and fellow QA team members.
3. Ability to comprehend and explain complex systems and understand how changes affect other parts of the system.
4. Solid understanding of debugging/troubleshooting software issues using HTTP, HTML, CSS, SQL, command line interfaces, and web services.
5. Articulate software issues including situations they occur/do not occur in.
6. Develop in more than one coding language to an intermediate level of competency.
7. Develop SQL scripts to an intermediate level of competency.
8. Teach team members so they learn to grow into a Senior QA Engineer.
9. Find creative and elusive defects throughout the system under test.
10. Novice to intermediate knowledge of WCAG compliance.

Requirements:
1. Combination of education and industry experience amounting to 7 years of experience in software testing.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
