About the Role

The Distribution & Client Technology department is a strategic area targeted for growth, and we're looking for a skilled Test Analyst to join our Client Reporting Technology Team. As a key enabler for the business, you'll be responsible for end-to-end testing on the data environment, including testing data virtualisation layers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, including manual, database, and automation testing.
  • Formulate test cases and ensure maximum test coverage.
  • Plan and execute tests efficiently and effectively.
  • Accurately report test preparation and execution progress.
  • Ensure adherence to testing standards, processes, and methodologies.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of key business systems and future developments.
  • Analyse defects and identify bug trends.
  • Log defects, escalate issues, and provide accurate management reporting.
  • Demonstrate good judgement in assessing issue severity.
  • Deliver tasks to agreed schedules and quality standards.
  • Promote automation testing principles and transfer skills to other QA staff.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts to understand requirements and devise solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams, architects, and leads.
  • Verify data reconciliation, error handling, and error logging mechanisms.

Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputable university.
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in testing databases, ETL load processes, and SQL stored procedures.
  • Strong SQL, relational databases (Oracle), and PL/SQL skills.
  • Understanding of ETL/DWH test automation principles.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX and autosys or Control-M.
  • Experience in test scripting, execution, and scheduling.
  • Understanding of automation test principles.
  • Experience with automation tools for database and data warehouse testing and exposure to ETL tools (preferably Informatica).
  • Experience working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development life-cycle methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of test principles, including unit, smoke, functional, user acceptance, and usability testing.
  • Experience with software testing techniques, test methodologies, test automation tools, and frameworks.
  • Experience with tools like Quality Centre and Jira.
  • Experience working in tight deadlines in a mature 'time-boxed' testing environment.
