Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineering Lead to drive the design and development of our enterprise SaaS and AI-driven data foundation. This role involves leading the architecture of clean, scalable models, driving data platform strategy, and enabling a high-velocity product development culture.

You will own everything from dbt pipelines and PostgreSQL modeling to data quality, data testing, and deployment – while collaborating cross-functionally to make data a strategic advantage.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect, develop, and maintain robust semantic layers and modular dbt pipelines.
  • Own schema design, documentation, and data contracts across analytics and application layers.
  • Define and enforce data platform best practices, versioning, and governance for all data models.
  • Implement data testing, observability, and quality automation to ensure confidence at scale.
  • Guide tool selection and platform evolution across the modern data stack.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ship reliable data-backed features.
  • Mentor a growing team of engineers and participate in architecture planning and reviews.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in backend or data engineering roles.
  • Deep experience designing and maintaining normalized and dimensional data models.
  • Advanced expertise in dbt (macros, packages, tests, modularization, docs).
  • Expert in SQL, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
  • Strong Python scripting for transformation logic and automation.
  • Proven experience with tools in the modern data stack, including:
  • dbt (Cloud or Core)
  • PostgreSQL (primary engine)
  • Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect for orchestration
  • Great Expectations or dbt tests for data quality
  • Fivetran, Airbyte, or custom loaders for ingestion
  • GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI for CI/CD
  • Terraform or IaC for platform provisioning (Snowflake, dbt Cloud, PostgreSQL configs)
  • Optional: Monte Carlo, Atlan, DataHub, or other metadata/lineage platforms
  • Good to have: experience with Oracle 12c, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or NetSuite integrations.
  • Familiarity with ERP/financial schema structures (chart of accounts, ledgers, invoicing)
  • 6+ years in engineering leadership, architecture, or tech lead roles.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across engineering, product, and analytics.
  • Strong communicator—can author technical documentation and explain system tradeoffs.
