Job Title: Shipyard Rigging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced shipyard rigging specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing rigging operations safely and efficiently, ensuring the correct lifting arrangement is selected in accordance with planned lifting operations. The role involves working closely with the team leader to direct the operation of cranes and similar equipment, as well as directing riggings of helpers to execute the rigging operation safely.

• Mooring and unmooring ships on floating dock and jetties
• Executing pilot and dock master instructions during ship maneuvering
• Remove, move, relocate, and install heavy machines, equipment, large structural parts, and other heavy loads by directing the operation of cranes and similar equipment and directing riggings of helpers in order to execute the rigging operation safely
• Select the correct lifting arrangement in accordance with planned lifting operations
• Monitor the condition of all lifting gear before and during operations and report immediately any damage to prevent accidents
• Perform all duties as directed by the team leader and ensure only certified gear is used before lifting operations

• Technical School/Vocational degree in Rigging
• Minimum years of experience in Shipyard Rigging
• Necessary training and qualification in Rigging
• Knowledge of rigging equipment assembly, installation, repair, and inspection including knowledge of technical practices used in rigging
• Knowledge of trade practices
• Communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Written and spoken English
