Financial Processing Specialist

Job Description:

The Financial Processing Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. Key responsibilities include processing customer payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining efficient data entry systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payment Processing: Accurately apply customer payments to invoices using various payment methods, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit card transactions.
  • Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile customer accounts to ensure all payments are accurately reflected and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Data Entry: Efficiently and accurately enter payment information into the accounting system.
  • Communication: Collaborate with departments such as sales and customer service to resolve payment discrepancies and address customer inquiries regarding account balances.
  • Reporting: Generate and maintain reports related to cash application activities and account reconciliations.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations throughout the cash application process.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancements and work with management to implement improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in any field, with a preference for Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics. Relevant experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven operational role is also essential. Additionally, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in MS Office applications, and experience with SAP are highly valued.
