Job Title: Renewable Energy Contract Specialist
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Description:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contracts related to renewable energy projects. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all contracts align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and Negotiating Contracts: You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to renewable energy projects, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), supplier agreements, land leases, and construction contracts.
- Contract Lifecycle Management: You will oversee the entire contract lifecycle from negotiation, execution, and performance management through to contract closeout, ensuring timely execution and minimizing delays and risks.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Regulatory Compliance: You will ensure that all contracts comply with relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations, including renewable energy-specific regulations and environmental compliance.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: You will identify potential risks in contracts and suggest mitigation strategies, including analyzing contractual obligations, performance guarantees, and indemnification clauses.
- Dispute Resolution: You will work closely with legal, compliance, and project teams to mitigate and resolve any contract-related disputes.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Internal Stakeholder Liaison: You will liaise with internal stakeholders such as legal, procurement, finance, and project teams to ensure smooth contract execution and adherence to contract terms.
- External Contractor Communication: You will act as the primary point of contact for external contractors, clients, and partners regarding contract performance and compliance.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Contract Performance Tracking: You will develop and maintain a system for tracking key contract performance metrics (e.g., milestones, deadlines, deliverables).
- Regular Reporting: You will provide regular reports on contract performance and potential issues to senior management.
- Contract Compliance Monitoring: You will monitor contract compliance to ensure contractual obligations are met, including timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in law, Engineering, or a related field (Master's or professional certifications such as PMP or CIPS preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in contract management or related roles, preferably within the renewable energy industry.
