We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Taxation and Advisory Expert. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to play a key role in managing advisory engagements for multinational companies.
About the Role- This position involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic execution, regulatory compliance, and optimal tax efficiency.
- The ideal candidate will support clients throughout the business lifecycle by conducting detailed quantitative analysis, managing seamless execution of plans, and applying effective structuring strategies.
- Ideate tax structuring options for multinational clients and evaluate India inbound structuring options.
- Manage end-to-end regulatory compliance processes for acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to legal and procedural requirements.
- Plan tax due diligence work and advise clients in negotiating the terms of transactions and documents based on findings from tax due diligence.
- Devising practical approaches to resolving tax issues in structuring assignments and conducting comprehensive reviews of business operations to identify tax planning opportunities and compliance gaps.
- Support Partner/Principal in tax planning and management of assignments, with guidance from the Partner.
- Research estimated service cost & man hours required for projects prior to pitching. Draft & present proposals to clients with guidance from Partners.
- Ideate building commercial substance in current processes & procedures and constantly innovate and improve on processes & plans for closing assignments.
- Proactively communicate, respond, and share updates & development of assignments on a regular basis with clients.
- Be the central point of contact and liaise with your client stakeholders, Partner/Principal, local stakeholders, and the team.
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with CFOs and Tax Directors, creating a high-quality professional network.
- Identify and ideate leads from public & private sources and constantly evaluate feasibility of new opportunities.
- Devising and supporting partners to prepare pitch proposals for client meetings.
- Identify new business opportunities in existing clients by keenly keeping track of developments at the client end, tax arena, and overall industry trends.
- Build credibility and deliver high-quality solutions while building rapport with Principal/Partners' clients and key stakeholders to ensure repeat business.
- Understand the tax compliance landscape and ideate how technology can be used, internally (by tax professionals in the firm) and externally (by industry clients), to make the compliance process more effective - simpler, speedier, and qualitatively superior.
- Acquire industry insights to improve current services. Develop content for networking in external events & seminars.
- Share knowledge acquired from external forums with team members. Regularly update Knowledge Management database with new updates.
- Provide guidance to the team on facts/issues/tech inputs/industry practice/etc., proactively to enable them to deliver on assignments.
- Identify and point out challenges so that they can be overcome quickly with solutions and support team members to resolve challenges/conflicts.
- Connect with team members on a regular basis to ensure assignments are closed within agreed TAT. Track team performance & share continuous feedback. Assess individual and team performance on closure of assignments and share feedback and learnings with team members.
- Create a learning environment and encourage people to leverage each other's strengths and deliver high-quality, consistent performance.
- Review available information & assess data/documents required from clients. Research & scrutinize all aspects of assignments with the team to ideate and provide optimal solutions.
- Support Partners/Principal by drafting memos/opinions/reports.
- Build client relationships and develop strong understanding of client requirements and businesses.
- Scrutinize Notice/Orders and share inputs with Principal/Partner for further steps.
- Draft appeals for review by Partner/Principal and attend hearings. Attend hearings/submission of appeal and proactively update clients on a regular basis regarding assignment development.
- COMPLIANCES: Review documents/forms/returns internally to maintain accuracy. Periodically coordinate with clients for necessary documents and record all documents related to assignments secured to ensure smooth closure of assignments.
- Offer necessary data and information to assist clients as needed.
- Capture key outcomes of client meetings accurately and share comprehensive summaries with clients/partners.
- Devise litigation plans and solutions to effectively resolve clients' tax disputes.
- Review engagement letters with precision.
- Monitor entire invoicing process, including diligent follow-ups for outstanding payments and monitoring payment statuses.
- Establish and uphold data controls for research papers, perform regular hygiene checks to ensure accuracy.
- Assist Principal in updating MIS on a regular basis.
- Prepare service summaries.
- Review important client communications.
- Ensure all facts & research is recorded securely.
- Identify project overruns and initiate actions to recover from the same.
